And comments like this are PRECICELY why Black women are honored when our own men like Jerry Lavigne, Jr. tell us that we are the most beautiful women on the planet! Becuz our OWN men say dumb, ignorant, and most importantly HURTFUL shit like this! I am not a dark skinned woman but this comment hurt me. Why does some1’s skin tone matter? That is not the determining factor of their beauty, intelligence, intellect, depth, humor, kindness, honesty, ALL attributes that should be considered and admired other than the physical. I’ve dated light skinned and dark skinned men. Neither is better than the other based on complexion. It’s about the personality. I’m currently dating a chocolate man who treats me like a queen. And it’s not becuz he’s chocolate. It’s becuz he’s a wonderful man with an amazing personality. This shit really saddens me. And the funny thing is THIS fool that made that comment ain’t far from dark skinned his damn self! Dumb ass. So to all the white people who commented on that gif the other day calling Jerry and what he said racist about showing his admiration for HIS women, look at this and tell me when the last time u heard a white man say he doesn’t like darker skinned white women! Get out of here! And we deal with this shit on a DAILY basis! It hurts so much.
